"Desert Smell", a precious collaborative album by Fabio Orsi and Massimo Amato, is fundamentally centred on suffused and dreamy ambient atmospheres, with inserts of ethereal female voice, suspended notes of reverberated piano, echoes in reverse, breaths of synthetic woodwinds, floating and enveloping pads, fragments of abstract sounds, sequencer phrases sometimes kept soberly in the background, and sometimes reminding of cosmic memories brought more energetically to the fore, accompanied by delicate electronic rhythmic overlays.
A varied and extremely enjoyable kaleidoscope of sounds and atmospheres for an artistic 'encounter' of great effectiveness and suggestion.
